Police Media Releases - Monday, Jan 30, 2017 at 11:29am
We’re deeply shocked and saddened by the act of terrorism that occurred in Quebec City last night.
The Nova Scotia Chiefs of Police convened by phone this morning and we’re each reaching out to our respective Muslim communities. We’re also monitoring intelligence and will step up our patrols accordingly. As always, we ask people to call police about any suspicious activity. We also encourage everyone to continue on with their daily lives, although we know that may be difficult in light of yesterday’s senseless act.
We recognize that this tragic incident impacts the Muslim community here and all Nova Scotians and Canadians. We’re here to protect the values that we all hold so dear – diversity, inclusion and openness. #mosqueequebec
