Aggravated assault/robbery GO # 17-40378

Police Reports - Mar 19, 2017

This morning at approximately 3:41 A.M. Halifax Regional Police responded to an aggravated assault / robbery at the corner of Barrington Street and George Street . When police arrived they located 25-year-old male victim and a 29-year-old male victim, one of the victims was unconscious, the other conscious  but bleeding from the face. The investigation has revealed the victims were assaulted and robbed by at least four males. There is no indication of a weapon being used. One of the victims was relieved of his wallet during this assault. The suspects are described as black men, 25-28 years old, wearing:
 
1)    green pants, green vest and black sweater
2)    dark green pants and a dark sweater
3)    black pants and a dark hooded sweatshirt
4)    blue jeans and dark sweater
 
The victims have been released from the hospital but require further medical treatment. There is no further information available at this time.

Weapons GO#17-40407

Police Reports - Mar 19, 2017

At 5:07 am Halifax Regional Police responded to  a residence in the 0-100 block  of Chebucto Lane in Dartmouth for a male who had been stabbed. Responding officers found a male with two stab wounds but could not locate the residence or area where the incident had occurred. The 26 year old male from Dartmouth was transported to QE2 with none life threatening injuries. The investigation is continuing.

Robbery GO#17-40316

Police Reports - Mar 19, 2017

At 0043 a.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to 5600 block of Ogilvie St for a robbery. The victim reported to police that approximately 60 minutes earlier  a 25-year-old white male , 5’11”, beard wearing a red toque robbed him of his wallet. There was no weapon seen and the victim was not injured. There was also a 25-year-old woman in the area but the victim was not sure if she was involved.
 
Police are investigating this matter at this time.

1)    At approximately 5:27 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to 1 Alderney Drive for arson. A suspect or suspects lit an item on fire in the common room causing the sprinkler system to be activated. Although the sprinkler system extinguished the fire, the building sustained water damage.     17-40099
 
2)    At approximately 9:39 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to the area of the MacDonald bridge for a bomb threat, the bridge was closed for a short time (less than a half an hour ) as police investigated. Once it was determined to be a hoax the bridge was reopened to traffic. 17-40214
 
3)    At approximately 9:05 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery on Alderney Drive at Geary Street. Approximately 45 minutes before three males in their twenties wearing masks robbed a male of some clothing items, a cell phone and his wallet. There was no weapon seen and there is no further description.   17-40201
 
Police are investigating these matters at this time and haven’t ruled out that some or all could be related.  There is no further information available at this time.

Weapons GO#17-39087

Police Reports - Mar 17, 2017

At 7:50 p.m. HRP officers responded to the MicMac Mall, located at 21 MicMac Blvd for a weapons call. Information received indicated a female had stabbed another female inside the mall, food court area, after a verbal dispute.  A 17-year-old female victim suffered a stab wounds to her arm and was transported to the QEII Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 14-year-old female assailant was taken into custody shortly after the incident and the matter is still under investigation with charges anticipated.

 

Stabbing GO#17-36658

Police Reports - Mar 12, 2017

Halifax Regional Police are currently investigating a stabbing that occurred overnight in Halifax. Cole Harbour RCMP were called to a Clarence Road address in their jurisdiction Saturday night in relation to an injured 19-year-old male suffering from apparent stab wounds.  

The male was transported to hospital by Emergency Health Services where he is currently receiving treatment for injures sustained in an assault early this morning in Halifax.

Through preliminary investigation‎ officers believe they have located the area where the incident occurred near the intersection of Grafton Street and Blowers Street. Officers are currently onscene in that area and will be clearing shortly.  

This investigation is currently in the early stages and more information will be made available when it is known.  

Weapons 17-36240

Police Reports - Mar 11, 2017

On March 11th 2017 at approximately 12:50 PM Halifax Regional Police responded to the Dartmouth General Hospital for a report of two males that had arrived with apparent gunshot wounds. Patrol members responded and spoke to staff as well as the victims, detectives from the integrated Major Crime Section also attended. As a result of the preliminary investigation it was determined the males were injured in RCMP Jurisdiction.

Police Reports - Mar 9, 2017

At approximately 9:15 p.m, on Wednesday, March 8, Halifax Regional Police responded to the area of Caledonia Road and Roleika Drive in relation to a weapons complaint. A 50-year-old man from Dartmouth reported that he was threatened with a knife by a man known to him. On arrival, HRP located the suspect walking on Caledonia Road near Main Street, as officers attempted to arrest him he struck one officer in the face with a closed fist and bit a second officer on the forearm. The 25-year-old man was arrested and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of possession of a weapon dangerous, assault police and resisting arrest. The officers were assessed and they did not require further treatment prior to continuing their duty.

 

 

Home Invasion GO#17-32782

Police Reports - Mar 6, 2017

At around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 5, Halifax Regional Police West Division Units responded to a home invasion on Autumn Drive.  A resident called to report that while he was sleeping two men wearing masks forced his door in and stole cash and a small amount of drugs.    

Both men were described as wearing black coats and between 5’9 and 6 feet tall.

Officers attended with K9 and tracked the male for a short distance, but could not locate him.  The file is currently being investigated and more details will be released when they are available.
